Fuelled Networks Proudly Supports The Ottawa Hospital Foundation

The 15th edition of The Ottawa Hospital President’s Breakfast was held on September 13, 2016, at the Shaw Centre. The President’s Breakfast attracts over 500 business and community leaders to hear hospital president and CEO Dr. Jack Kitts’ vision for providing world-class care in Ottawa. As well, they hear from patients whose lives have been impacted by the care they received.

Over the years, the President’s Breakfast has raised over $10 million to fund research, build the cancer centre, purchase state-of-the-art equipment, and place cutting-edge tools in the hands of the talented and dedicated medical professionals at The Ottawa Hospital.  Last year alone, the President’s Breakfast raised $700,000 for patient care and research.

Fuelled Networks’ own Ernie Sherman has been an ardent supporter of The Ottawa Hospital for some years.  As a volunteer on the President’s Circle Leadership Cabinet, he helps engage others to volunteer. Every year, he serves as a table captain, inviting his friends and colleagues to attend this important one-hour fundraising breakfast.

“Volunteers like Ernie are the driving force behind our success,” says Sharon Martin, Senior Director of Philanthropy at The Ottawa Hospital.  “They have a direct impact on improving health care in our community by inviting their peers to hear The Ottawa Hospital story, and motivating them to make a difference.”

At each President’s Breakfast, Ernie has been impressed by the incredible talent and dedication of the medical professionals and researchers at The Ottawa Hospital. The stories courageously shared by people whose lives have been saved have inspired him.  They remind him how fortunate we are to have access to the very best care here at home.

Ernie is incredibly proud and motivated to continue to support this great cause. “What I get back in return is a lot bigger than what I contribute, that’s for sure,” he said. “After all, this is about building a better tomorrow for our families, our friends and our community who one day will need The Ottawa Hospital.”
