At Fuelled Networks when we aren’t busy taking care of your technology, we are busy volunteering and giving back into our community. Our CEO, Ernie Sherman, has been a strong support of the Ottawa Hospital and has been a table captain and volunteer for more than 5 years.

The Ottawa Hospital Foundation is the fundraising arm of The Ottawa Hospital, they work to inspire and enable the community to support improvements for their patient care, research and equipment. In 2014-2015 alone they were transferred $20.6 million from The Ottawa Hospital Foundation for patient care and research.

Every dollar raised stays within the community and in the last 5 years they have raised more than an astounding $99 million for The Ottawa Hospital.

Ernie Sherman is now a member of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation Cabinet; the Cabinet is the group responsible to support the co-chairs in recruiting other PCVS/table hosts.

They will likely meet four times before the President’s Breakfast to review their list of volunteers and to strategize about sponsorship and sectors they need to make their way in to generally help ensure the success of the event.

The President’s Breakfast provides opportunity for guests to hear the story of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation and the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute to be inspired to make donations. It has become overwhelmingly successful each year and draws attention to more than 500 guests to help raise around $500,000 for health care and research.

“The biggest thing that stood out for me at my first Breakfast was listening to the application of the funds that was going back into the community and how people that were getting up were touched by this, and their stories… What I get back in return is really a lot more than what I contribute, that’s for sure.” Ernie Sherman
